3 Ways To Help Your Children Get More Exercise Each Day

While getting daily exercise is important for everyone, growing kids not only need to be active each day in order to help their bodies and mind develop, but they also need to have some kind of physical outlet for their energy. When this doesn’t happen, you may wind up with kids who aren’t as developed physically, emotionally, and mentally.

If you’ve allowed your children to keep from being as active as they should be on a regular basis, here are three ways you can help your children get more exercise each day.

Skip The Car

Sometimes, the best way to get some exercise is to put it into your daily routine by making it a part of your transportation.

According to Health.gov, having your kids walk or bike to school is a great way to get them moving each day of the week. What can make this even better for your family is if everyone does this together so that each person is able to get some daily exercise.

If you live too far from your child’s school so that driving or taking other transportation is a must, you can still incorporate this idea into your life. Rather than walking or biking to school, consider walking to the store together when you need to pick something up or having your child bike to their friend’s house or other activities instead of having you drive them to and from.

Sign Up For A Sport

Signing up for sports is another way that you can encourage your kids to get more exercise on a regular basis, if not every day.

Stephanie Mansour, a contributor to NBC News, shares that any sport you or your child chooses to sign up for will help them have healthier bodies as well as develop stronger ties to their community. Anything from joining a dance group to playing on a basketball or soccer team and even doing something like tennis or swimming will get your child moving and completing a daily exercise routine.

Provide Fun Activities

If signing up for an organized sport or activity doesn’t work for you or your children, there are still plenty of ways that you can help your kids get more exercise while at home or spending time with your friends or family.

Dr. Hansa D. Bhargava, a contributor to WebMD.com, shares that encouraging more outdoor play is a great way to have your kids run around and get some exercise. Additionally, you can also get exercise indoors through things like dance video games, pretending to be animals, and much more.

If you’re wanting to help your kids be more active on a daily basis, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you accomplish this.
